 | Our family started in 1991. Ibrahim and Terrilee Hodroj; owners and parents of; DJ Hanna; our oldest son who is continuing his education near Seattle and Kaylee Hodroj; our Grand Princess of Main, a flowering Einstein and animal lover. Princess Pand-Dee of Main (Pand-Dee), Princess Kookee of Main (Kookee), Sir Kingsley Knight (Kiwi), and Sir Henry Knight (Henry) are our AKC Shih Tzu family. We couldn't imagine life without them. They roam our property within an invisible dog fence chasing squirrels, rabbits and our ever abundant chipmunks. These guys love everyone and visitors are always greeted with licks and a grand display of happiness. Our yard is riddle with dog toys, dog bones and stuffed animals. Shih Tzu fans and adoptive Shih Tzu parents/friends are always welcome to share a cup of java and some Shih Tzu love. |
 | We have limited litters occasionally and in fact a total 12 puppies have had the best start in life raised in our home as part of our family provided round the clock attention. When the time came to de-sex, we decided to breed a litter or two to experience the joy and do NOT consider ourselves to be "breeders". Our care is impeccable and frankly, we find it hard to part with them but we can't keep them all. Of our four Shih Tzus, two of which are from the 12. Once we decided to donate a puppy to a deserving local senior, we found it so rewarding that we redirected our focus from any profit (which by the way never happened) to enriching the lives of those who need through Shih Tzu adoption. We especially like to place with disadvantaged seniors and homes that have suffered a loss. Although, keep in mind that we breed occasionally and do not run as a profiting kennel. A puppy from Hodroj Farms is a reason to celebrate. Our puppies are fantastic pets completely socialized, healthy, and receive our tender care. Everything about their adoption is taken into account as our litters are NOT based on profit like some breeders. Therefore, we look for the best home for our puppies so this is taken into consideration during our adoption process. A reference check is required, a referral from a senior or non-profit group is desired and sometimes a home visit as well. We never place without knowing the adoptive family and we are always supportive as best as we can for the lives of our puppies. Further our babies are placed locally by us in Southeastern Michigan and under a strict adoption contract. Preferrably our adoptions are community based and adoption is not fee driven - it is calculated with compassion. Please call before stopping by to ensure we're here.
